WINTER 2020 ARENA CLOSURE AND REFUNDS

Attention All Woodbridge Figure Skating Club Members,

We will begin to issue refunds for the Arena Closure from Friday March 13 to May 13, 2020 today. All refunds are subject to the $44 Skate Canada fee plus a $10 administration fee. When you sign up for skating programs at our club, you are required to also become a member of Skate Canada. This annual $44 fee is valid from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020. It includes insurance coverage, along with access to all Skate Canada programs. This fee does not stay with the club, but is sent on to Skate Canada in Ottawa. For more information about Skate Canada, visit www.skatecanada.ca If you made payments in the office you will receive a refund cheque in the mail at a later date. Please confirm that your mailing address on Uplifter is updated. You can login into wfsc.uplifterinc.com to confirm and update your mailing address and subscribe to email notifications. If payment was made online using Uplifter you will receive an email with the refund details. Due to social distancing, the club office will remain closed until further notice. Please continue to communicate through email.

WINTER 2020 SEASON

Dear Skating Club Members,

As you may be aware, as of Saturday, March 14 and until at least April 5, 2020, the City of Vaughan has shut down municipal facilities as part of the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. This includes all recreation facilities, arenas, pools and libraries. Effective March 19, Skate Canada has also suspended its sanctioned programs until further notice.

As a result, all Woodbridge Figure Skating Club programs have been suspended for this season. Refunds will be processed in due course.

CanSkate and PreCanSkate reports will be sent via email in the coming months. Any achievements, such as ribbons and badges, can be picked up at the club office in mid-September. Members are encouraged to continue to check our website for any updates. Please refer to the most recent statement from Skate Canada for additional information, links, and recommendations.

We thank you for your cooperation, patience and understanding during this pandemic.

ARENA CLOSURES COVID-19

Attention All Woodbridge Figure Skating Club (WFSC) Members,

We are sorry for the short notice but all programs running this Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 have been cancelled.

We regret having to cancel these skating dates but feel it is in the best interest of our club members and their families. The health and welfare of our skating community is our first priority. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will follow the advice of our local, provincial and federal health departments.

WFSC will continue to follow the directions of Skate Canada/Skate Ontario, along with Health Canada and York Region Public Health. That being said, effective immediately (March 13, 2020), all WFSC programs have been suspended. Our main priority at WFSC is to ensure the health and safety of our coaches, volunteers and administrator.

Since the response to this pandemic has been very fluid, we will do our best to keep an open line of communication with all of you, and provide you with ongoing updates.

The office of WFSC will be closed to the public during this period but staff will be available through email.

If you have any further questions, please email:
