ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Dear Woodbridge Figure Skating Club Members,

The end of the 2019/2020 skating season is fast approaching. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held virtually this year at a later date in conjunction with a meeting to provide an update about return to skate protocols. It will be important for members to attend this meeting virtually in order to discuss the future direction of the club and the safety protocols that skaters and parents will need to adhere to.

The club is currently working with the City of Vaughan, Skate Canada and Skate Ontario to ensure a safe return to skating and will provide updates via email as well as through our social media accounts, as soon as they are available. As planning is underway for the 2020/2021 skating season, we have some vacant positions on our Board Of Directors. This is a great opportunity to learn more about not-for-profit organizations and Skate Canada while making new friendships and serving your community as a volunteer.

The following board positions are vacant: President (as per by-laws this position must be filled by an existing Board Member), Secretary, Treasurer and three (3) Members at Large for a one year term. Current Board Members have expressed interest in the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer.

The board is encouraging CanSkate parents to volunteer their time, in order to have all the club programs represented. Please forward your Letters of Intent by Monday, August 17th, 2020 in PDF format or a separate document to contact@wfsc.ca

This letter should include any relevant skills that will enable you to be a successful volunteer with our club. Please note that members interested in volunteering must be members in good standing. Elections will only be held at the AGM should there be more than one candidate for each available position. All letters of intent will be read at the AGM.
